Originally named Milton Hayes and Sons, the business was owned and operated by Milton and Sarah Hayes in Lions Head, Ontario. Their cedar post and log business was eventually sold to their son, Roger Hayes, who moved it just south of Wiarton where it operated for 25+ years. Renamed Hayes Timber, Roger grew the business to include cedar mulch which he produced using the by-product from his peeled cedar posts. Today, Roger works alongside his son-in-law, Dan, who has taken Hayes Timber Inc. into a new generation. Dan brings a modern approach to the forestry business while keeping the family-owned values that have been a part of Hayes Timber for many generations.
